Five Youth Corps 2007 Projects Announced

Five United Youth Corps international projects and a new partial subsidy program for young adult participants were announced Feb. 17. The announcement read:

"Do you want to make a positive difference in the world? Do you want to live the Christian principle of serving your brethren in the Church and needy people in the world? Do you want to experience the enriching education and adventure of international travel? Would you like to do all these things at the same time? If so, the United Youth Corps might be for you."

Applications are being accepted for programs in:

• Zambia (April 19 to May 3).

• Philippines (April 18 to 29).

• Nigeria (July 16 to Aug. 1).

• Ghana (Aug. 8 to 22).

• Kenya (Dec. 6 to 19).

All five projects involve serving as staff members for youth camps in these countries.

Fact sheets and application forms are available from local pastors or you may view and download them at the United Youth Corps Web page at www.ucg.org/youthcorps/. Most projects require about two weeks, including travel.

New This Year—Financial Aid/Subsidy

This year, the United Church of God is offering to subsidize up to 50 percent of the airfare cost of all those accepted to serve on United Youth Corps projects. Also, those applicants who may have additional fund limitations can apply for additional financial aid.

This is a new financial commitment that the United Church of God is making to this exciting program for our young adults. Financial aid forms can be acquired from local pastors or the United Youth Corps Web page

Deadlines

The deadline for applications to the projects in the Philippines and Zambia was March 1, and the Nigeria and Ghana deadline is set for April 1.

We encourage all of our young adults to take the chance to find out more about how you can make a positive difference in the Church and in the world while living unique international adventures. You can do all this by participating in the United Youth Corps!

The United Youth Corps program offers opportunities for service, leadership training and travel for young adults in the Church. This is the eighth year of offering United Youth Corps opportunities and, to date, about 50 young adults have participated in 15 projects in eight countries. UN
