Honoring our Senior Brethren for their Continued Service

At this year’s dinner, seniors were given a note card from Proverbs 16:31 reminding them that “the silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness.”

Before dinner, the youth of the congregation sang “Days of Elijah.” The seniors were served a delightful meal by teens and young adults, which included iceberg wedge salad, braised beef short ribs and salmon in banana leaves, along with sides to complement those main dishes. Many took pleasure in a glass of peach sangria, and the meal was completed with peach cobbler ala mode.

The seniors applauded those who prepared the dishes and those who served the meals. Steve Diggins addressed the seniors and conveyed the congregation’s appreciation for their service since they serve in many ways. After the dinner concluded, several attendees expressed their enthusiasm for next year’s dinner.
