Los Angeles Women’s Club Learns How to Make Jewelry!

On May 22, a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Women’s Club gathered together. Women ages 15 to, well, let’s say over 70, learned how to make jewelry using a wire wrapping technique. Hosted by Sharon Roybal in her home, the afternoon began with a mini-feast of all kinds of appetizers prepared by the attendees. From chocolate covered strawberries to deviled eggs to crackers and chocolate tea, they ate very well. Then the lessons began.

Katelyn Roybal, who has her own jewelry business, was teacher for the afternoon, sharing her talent with the ladies. She has made some remarkably beautiful jewelry, and everyone was ready to learn. She had books of pictures of beautiful jewelry and samples of what she has made. Katelyn was very patient as the ladies learned how to operate the various tools involved. They all thoroughly enjoyed learning together, not only how to wire wrap, but a lot about patience as well. Club coordinator Patti Josifek said, “It is so good to see the ladies and girls have this kind of fellowship and bonding experience.”

And the end result? Each went home with a brand new pair of earrings! It was enjoyable to walk around the room complimenting each other on the earrings, even though they all looked pretty much the same.
