“Outgoing Concern for Others” Proves an Inspiring Theme at Enrichment Weekend

Wally and Sharon Browning coordinated the event for the brethren, which was packed with activities.

Everything began with an interactive Bible study of six of the “Ten Points of Outgoing Concern” (modeled after the Ten Commandments) on Friday evening followed by a hymn sing. Saturday morning, we gathered for a seminar on the four remaining points. The brethren were encouraged to spend time considering the needs of others, and they focused on numerous ways to accomplish this.

After that the group split into five groups to complete an escape room activity. All of the groups were successful in “helping the pastor locate his sermon notes” in under 30 minutes!

Sabbath school took place prior to Sabbath services which consisted of messages from John McKinney and Kevin Call. Following services, the entire group ate a Thanksgiving-type meal together at the facility.

Next we completed three service projects including putting together treat bags for local law enforcement officers, blanket tying for nursing homes, and homemade cards for members. We wrapped up after sunset with a family movie, popcorn, and soda.

On Sunday morning, some adventurous folks enjoyed a hike before everyone packed up and left for home. Everyone is eagerly looking forward to repeating this event next year!
