I greatly appreciate our international senior pastors who serve so faithfully around the world. Jorge de Campos and Paul Moody are visiting our churches and brethren this week. Because of the pandemic, there has been a long drought of this vital contact between senior pastors and congregations outside of the United States.

Jorge de Campos in Brazil

Jorge de Campos is senior pastor to our brethren who speak Portuguese and he began a trip to Brazil last Tuesday. On the Sabbath, as he was en route from Boa Vista to the church in Maloca de Moscou, he was involved in a serious automobile accident. He was struck by a vehicle in the left front of his car. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and X-rayed. Thankfully, no bones were broken. You can read Jorge’s own account of this incident at v2.travelark.org/travel-blog-entry/jorgedecampos/11/1621128493.

God has been very gracious and has protected Jorge, and he continues to serve our brethren in Brazil. Again, we ask for your prayers for Jorge and for those he so willingly serves. Full details of this journey are documented in an ongoing travel blog at v2.travelark.org/travel-blog/jorgedecampos/11. You can send him greetings and encouraging words from the blog itself, as some have done already.

The accident has not deterred his determination to continue his journey and baptize those God is bringing to repentance. May God continue to grant Jorge courage and increased strength.

Report from Paul Moody in Ghana

Paul Moody, senior pastor for English-speaking West Africa, sends the following report on his trip to Ghana:

“I arrived safely in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday afternoon. The COVID-19 precautions added a small degree of challenge to the trip, but nothing too serious. It is very good to be back and reconnecting personally with the brethren here after nearly a year and three months of absence.

“The majority of Wednesday was spent in meetings with the Accra pastor, David Meselebe, and office manager Henry Aikins. We discussed a number of topics ranging from Feast of Tabernacles planning to youth camp and congregational matters. Their wives joined us in the evening for a very pleasant dinner together.

“Early Thursday morning, Henry Aikins and I will hit the road, traveling five hours north to Kumasi where we will meet with a number of Church members from that region throughout the afternoon. On Friday, we will continue our trek an additional four and a half hours north to Yeji, a town situated in central Ghana, adjacent to the northern end of Lake Volta. It has been two years since I have been able to make a personal visit to the Yeji congregation. The road between Kumasi and Yeji has seen some recent challenges with increased highway robberies and other violence, but security along that highway has just been increased and we will be making our travels through that region during the daylight portion of the day. We plan to spend the Sabbath with the Yeji brethren, God willing.

“Thank you for your prayers regarding our safe travels and the success of this trip. It truly is a blessing to be back with God’s people in Ghana once again.”

Please do join us in prayers for Paul, for his service to our brethren, and for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Ghana.

Tomorrow I leave for Tennessee to visit our brethren in Nashville and Murfreesboro, and to spend some time at Camp Nacome. I look forward to spending time with Gary and Kim Petty and also Matthew Puckett, camp director for Nacome, his family and also those who will be enjoying camp! Please pray for good weather and God’s blessing on Nacome and all our summer camps. This is the first of many to come this summer. We are grateful that most camps are going to be held this year.

Wishing you all a very peaceful, yet uplifting and inspiring Sabbath!
