Campers will have the opportunity to sharpen or develop new skills in a variety of sporting activities including softball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and speedaway. Teamwork is promoted at the ropes course and in our novelty olympics. Other activities include archery, riflery, swimming, dance class, rock climbing/rappelling and journalism. Also, this year we will be offering a class in stand-up paddle boarding and an escape room challenge. Each day starts with Christian living.
An experience that will stay with me for a lifetime! (Camper @ Pinecrest)
While fun is definitely part of the program, the camp is more than just activities and challenges. God and His Word are central to the design and fun of the United Youth Camps program. It is our goal that all young people would come away from camp with the crucial lesson of remembering their Creator while still in their youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1 Ecclesiastes 12:1Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;
American King James Version×).
Finally, relationships are an important part of the UYC program. Each day will include plenty of fellowship time for everyone.
Many of our dedicated staff return to Pinecrest year after year, gaining experience and growing in their ability to serve the young people of the Church. A great counseling and activity staff joining together with the campers creates an environment that promotes fun, challenge and spiritual growth.
If you would like to join our staff, please note that staff workers must be 18 years of age or older and need the recommendation of their pastor. Every staff member must complete pre-camp training, and some activity positions require specialized training or experience.
