The camp facility, Camp Magruder, resides along one of the most pristine stretches of ocean and beach in the Pacific Northwest.

Christian living lessons at camp this year will be based on the theme “God’s Vision for You.” Lessons will illustrate from the Scriptures that our Creator has a plan for each of us to be in His Kingdom and that the calling Timothy experienced was as genuine and real as the calling of Paul or Peter.

Going in to this camp I was really anxious; I barely knew anyone. It ended up being great; the best week of my life! (Camper @ Northwest)

Activities

The camp days end with a campfire session as we watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean.

Activities on the beach includes: volleyball, boogie boarding and speedaway. The activity schedule will include lake swimming, waterskiing, archery, pickleball, arts and crafts, dance class, softball, kayaking and an end-of-camp dinner banquet and dance. The excellence in living class will help campers and staff explore communication skills and relationship building. There will be ample time for enjoyable fellowship and making new friends. Northwest Camp is once again able to offer horseback riding through the woods and on the beach. 

A great camp experience includes building close friendships with those of like mind and taking home spiritual principles to use throughout life. Our goal is to establish a godly atmosphere where campers can be enriched.

Transportation

Campers should arrive at Northwest Camp between 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 and plan their departure on Sunday July 29, between 8:30 and 10 a.m. If you plan to fly to camp, transportation to and from the Portland airport to Northwest Camp will be provided. Please try to schedule your flight to arrive at the Portland airport between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on July 22. Departure flights from the Portland airport should be between 12:30 and 4 p.m. on July 29. Please note we will not be able to accept campers before 2 p.m. on July 22. Campers and staff who fly to camp will not need to bring a sleeping bag or pillow. Bedding will be provided for them at camp. 

Staff

We are looking for quality volunteers to serve this year. Counseling staff will need to arrive a day early to begin their team building and counselor training in the Portland area on Friday, July 20. Activity and support staff should plan to arrive at Camp Magruder in time for 2 p.m. Sabbath services on July 21. Following a camp dinner there will be staff training Saturday night and on Sunday morning until noon.

Our goal is for the camp experience to result in life changing positive decisions for God’s youth. As one of the campers wrote on his after camp survey, “I learned that we must live God’s way because it is the right thing to do.”
