Winter Camp

Winter Camp 2017 was held at a new location this year in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Camp was a great success, even with some extremely cold temperatures. We had snow a few different days, which makes for a beautiful backdrop to all the fun activities, fellowship and Bible discussions.

At camp this year we had 67 campers and 39 staff, many of whom were new to Winter Camp this year. We began each day with a short compass check that introduced our daily Christian living topic to allow the campers and staff to think about and discuss it during the day. We had a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that included an escape room, field sports, tubing, a Bible class, team building, snowboarding, floor hockey, basketball, volleyball and dance class. We then had interactive Christian living classes each evening where the campers could talk and ask questions about the daily themes.

Each night we had different activities ranging from get-to-know-you games, a first dance, Bible games, a gym night with a climbing wall, off-site snowboarding for the older campers and a s’mores night for the younger campers, as well as a final dance that included some live performances from some of our campers. The live performances during the dance were a fun addition to the final dance and allowed campers the chance to perform in a safe and fun environment.

The new facility was very nice, and we will be returning there this coming year. We didn’t have as much snow as we would have liked and had to cancel on-site snowboarding and tobogganing, but hopefully next year we can add those activities as well.

Thank you for your prayers for the success and safety at camp. They were definitely answered. I also wanted to thank the campers and staff once again for their part in making camp a wonderful success.

Come join us next year for an awesome time at Winter Camp!
