2022 Feast of Tabernacles
Blantyre, Malawi
This year’s Feast of Tabernacles was different from the previous ones. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and she was not spared from the negative impacts of COVID-19 and the economic hardships created by the war in Ukraine. But the rising prices of food commodities, fuel and services did not dampen the spirit and morale of 98 brethren who gathered at Kanjedza Forest, in the commercial capital of Blantyre City to keep God’s Feast. Inspiring sermons were expounded, explaining how God will banish the devil and his cohorts from deceiving mankind for 1,000 years and usher in His Kingdom where peace, joy and prosperity will prevail under the reign of Jesus Christ. Members were encouraged to remain steadfast and focused in obeying God and keeping His commandments in these difficult times. Sermons were spiced with beautiful special music by the UCG main choir, youth choir, children’s choir and some individuals.
As a foretaste of that coming wonderful world tomorrow, brethren were treated to delicious meals which they don’t eat often at home. They were also entertained with variety shows performed by some of the members of the Church, especially the youth. We held family day in which several social activities were provided, bringing brethren together as one big family. On Sunday, before the Eighth Day of the Feast, there was final treat for everyone starting with the senior citizens, the upcoming senior citizens, the youth and the preteens. Preteens were taken to a lodge where they enjoyed a swimming pool. Everyone enjoyed mouthwatering food at a barbecue, which was also a farewell party with dancing. What a wonderful Feast we have had this year!
