Atlanta, Georgia—The Atlanta Women’s Club gathered on Feb. 20, 2022, at the Talbott home for the club’s fourth annual tea party. This year, the event featured a wintry theme. Attendees included members from UCG’s Atlanta, Buford and Columbus, Georgia, congregations. In all, 32 ladies were in attendance.

Upon entering the property, guests were welcomed by a young butler and directed where to park. Once inside the home, decorations—evoking the movie “Frozen”—included tables set with polished silver as well as distinctive plates, teacups and saucers. The atmosphere also featured turquoise bows tied on chairs and turquoise napkins folded into the shape of snowflakes. A three-tiered stand laden with delicacies functioned as the centerpiece of the decorations. Servers dressed in black—with white aprons and hats—served five varieties of tea.

To begin the tea, Wendy Englehardt welcomed the ladies on behalf of the Atlanta Women's Club. An opening prayer was asked for the event. Then, Kristine Talbott explained the basics of “High Tea” and offered details concerning the latest variety of teas. The first course consisted of tea sandwiches and savories, the second course included scones with jam and cream, and the third course offered sweets. After the group enjoyed all three courses and fellowship, Sarah and Jasmine Aust led the ladies in a “Tin Pail” ice-breaker game where groups of six to eight ladies were formed and each person was tasked with writing something unique about themselves on a piece of paper. Teams were next responsible for matching up each fact to its owner. Prizes were given to the individuals who had the most interesting revelation. Next, Edma Briggs led a discussion about the Atlanta Women's Book Club. She then introduced a new book titled, Discover Your God-Given Gifts, by Don and Katie Fortune.

The tea concluded with a quiz from Sarah and Jasmine Aust on the history of “High Tea.” Those who answered the most questions right received an additional prize. Everyone left this year’s tea having enjoyed themselves and looking forward to next year’s event.
