Now, that really makes sense. On the other hand, the best and perhaps only time to properly repair a roof is when it is not raining. What a dilemma we sometimes find ourselves in. Most often, the dilemma is connected to or driven by our laziness. All too often we put off for tomorrow that which we do not need to do today. There is something very human about that pattern. First things first, set your priorities and all those good thoughts move roof repair down the list.

Our spiritual roof must never be allowed to leak, so rain or shine, be sure the roof is in good repair. Fear can hamper roof repair (Matthew 25:25-26). Jesus called that being lazy. Thinking the rain is delayed can make one hesitate (Matthew 24:48). Misjudgment can also allow the damage to go untended (Luke 12:20-21). Decisions are ours—when do you repair a roof? Sometimes the answer is right now!
