A Light to Our Path

Dear Brethren,

We are not untouched by the world's troubles, but the word of God shows us how to navigate through them. While the world convulses around us, the knowledge of the truth grows more precious. This is the wisdom that comes from God. Possessing such knowledge caused the psalmist to write, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalms 119:105).

When we walk in God's way of life, we know how to keep our feet from evil and stay out of the world. We know how to find peace even when there is conflict all around. Christ called this way the "narrow gate" which is "difficult" to find but "which leads to life" (Matthew 7:13). He said that "there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:14). How blessed we are to see this way before us!

Our constant challenge is to stay on that path. We must make our "eyes look straight ahead," not turn "to the right or the left" and keep our "foot from evil" (Proverbs 4:25-27). We must keep God's word in our mind, and use His Spirit to enlighten it. There is no other way to stay out of the trouble that is in the world. There is no other way that leads to life and immortality. As the psalmist also wrote, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You" (Psalms 119:11).

It is sad to watch our nation being drawn to its own destruction. By her unwillingness to obey God, she forfeits the blessings that come from walking on the path of truth. But by staying on the path lighted by God's word, we can "escape all these things that will come to pass" (Luke 21:36). God's word will show you the way!

Let's stay on the path that God's word lights before us. "For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life" (Proverbs 6:23)!

Warm regards,

Andy
