Letter From Dan Preston

April 17, 2020

Greetings brethren and Happy Sabbath!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Feast of Unleavened Bread!  Last week's memory verse was John 15:11 (NKJV), "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." Read below and see if you can prepare a way to find some clues for this week's memory verse!

Lots to 'digest'

On Wednesday night, just after sunset, our family voice cried out a unified word - "PIZZA!!!!".  It's been our family tradition for many years to exit the Feast of Unleavened Bread by ordering pizza, and boy was it good!

The next step of course will be to go buy all those necessities of the kitchen such as baking soda, yeast, crackers, etc.  Although, with the current rush on such items due to COVID-19, it might be more of a challenge than it has been in years past.

Don't forget...

Obviously, we shouldn't take the same approach with what it was that leaven represented last week - sin.  Instead, we should be like Israel, coming out of the wilderness, which also represented sin. We should strive to get out, and stay out, of sinful behavior.  And even more importantly, focus on continuing to put that unleavened bread - Jesus Christ - in us.

As we do that, we do something important.  We become living and breathing testimonies for one of the most critical components of the gospel - crying out that the Lord Jesus Christ will return to establish the kingdom on this Earth!

Why do it?

So why do any of this?  Sure, we want to live a righteous life, and be in the Kingdom of God, but there's another component to it.  By striving to live a life that imitates Christ, we cry out the need for all humanity to be more like Him.

While we can't straighten out the path the world is on by ourselves, we can do our part.  We can be living examples, helping to prepare the way for the return of Christ and make the path straight for His return!
