Letter From Dan Preston

August 30, 2019

Good evening brethren and happy Sabbath!  Last week's memory verse was 1 Corinthians 14:40 (NKJV), "Let all things be done decently and in order."  Perhaps you can read through this evenings letter, and speak to your children about what this week's memory verse might be!

Adages exist for a reason

As you all know, this summer has been busy for our family, as I'm sure it was yours.  The seventh month of the year flew by as we were on the road, the eigth month had us busy getting ready for school and Monday is the first of the ninth month!  Time flies, as the old saying goes...

Getting our summer's worth

I don't want to toot my own horn, but I feel like we were able to do a lot this summer.  Three camps among our family, visits with family, and many visits with all the brethren here!  From Memorial day until now, it has been a busy summer!

Of course, in many ways, the Fall is not much slower.  In fact, with the coming Fall Holy Days, we will have some special opportunities to gather on these annual sabbath rests, and worship God together as a family.  Although physicaly restful, the next several weeks promise to be a very fulfilling and much needed spiritual workout!

Getting ready

Are you ready, spiritually speaking?  No doubt, you've made your travel plans already (if not, better hurry!), but have you taken time to think about what the upcoming Holy Days really mean?  While we don't have a trumpet in our house to blow (although we do have a saxophone. Hmmm.....), we are looking forward to the next high day, a very special memorial day.  I look forward to tomorrow's Sabbath service when we will have a special PowerPoint presentation to help us do just that!
