Letter From Dan Preston

November 1, 2019

Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath!  Last week's memory verse was Luke 21v28 (NKJV), "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."  Don't be displeased if you didn't guess last week's verse correctly. But maybe this week, let the children help you!

Who turned off the heat?

As I sit down to write this note, it's a beautiful fall day.  I enjoy fall, the only problem is that it was 80 degrees yesterday, and barely 60 today!  Oh well, cooler temperatures were bound to come eventually, I suppose. After all, God designed it that way!

Explaining the difficult

Have you ever had to answer a question that didn't have a short answer?  Maybe like a child asking, "Why does summer have to end?" While we know and accept the fact that seasons come and go, putting and answer into words for an inquisitive mind can be quite difficult!

The answer can sometimes lie in understanding where the other person is coming from.  For example, a little child might think about the weather, life, death - even the Kingdom of God - much differently than an adult does!

A child like approach

If you find yourself trying to answer a difficult question, maybe it's time to take a more 'child-like' approach.  Be willing to ask questions, and receive answers, just as a child would. You might just receive a blessing and lay your hands on an answer that brings you one step closer to the Kingdom of God!
