Letter From Dan Preston

November 29, 2019

Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath!  Last week's memory verse was Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV), "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding."  Read the letter below to see if you can obtain some clues for this week's letter!

Gobble Gobble!

I hope you had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as we did this week!  It was complete with turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberries and my personal favorite - Pecan pie.  But what made it special was the opportunity to share it with family and friends!

This holiday, appointed by our federal government, is a day for us to give thanks for all our blessings.  Most of us have more than we can count - health, a roof over our head, and of course, plenty to eat on Thanksgiving!

More than physical

When we take time to think about our blessings, there is one that most likely quickly rises to the top of our list.  This particular blessing can't be measured with numbers like dollars, or even the pieces of pie we can eat on Thanksgiving.

It is of course our calling and the promise of salvation it brings.  Nothing on Earth at all is more precious. Nothing puts aside the fears and wrath of the daily trials we face than this most special blessing of all.

Now's the time

As this Thanksgiving week draws to a close, don't forget to take time to be grateful to our God for all He has blessed you with.  And even if we are enduring trials at the present moment, we must remember: God did not give us all these blessings - physical and spiritual - just to watch us suffer under His wrath.  His desire is not only to bless us in our lives today, but forever, obtaining salvation through our Lord, Jesus Christ!
