Letter From Dan Preston

October 25, 2019

Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath!  Last week's memory verse was Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV), "I will lift up my eyes to the hills--From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth." Look up some verses in your Bible based on the clues below for this week's memory scripture!

Always Good to be Back Home

As much as I know we all enjoyed feasting over the past two weeks, it's always nice to sleep in your own bed!  Of course, that first night's sleep is usually followed by lifting your head up to the sound of an alarm, signaling the start of the first day back at work or school.  Back to the grind, as they say...

What is it about the Feast?

So what is it about the Feast of Tabernacles and Eight Day that brings us so much joy?  Of course there is the physical feasting, but as spiritually mature followers of Christ, I think we know it is much more than that.

Each year, these 8 days give us extra time for prayer, Bible Study, listening to messages and fellowship with brethren of like mind.  These things help boost the reality, that our elder brother, Jesus Christ, WILL return to this Earth to redeem all of mankind and establish the Kingdom of God.  How can we not be excited about that!!!!

The next 12 months

The time between now and next Feast can seem like an eternity.  The present reality of homework, deadlines, bills, etc. begins to set in.  Now when these things begin to happen, it's easy to lose sight of the joy we just experienced through the Fall Holy Days, but we must be careful not to let our physical routines detract from the spiritual time of growth we just experienced.

Each year, the Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day provide a wonderful reminder of the reality that IS to come.  As we get back into our routines, keep your head lifted up high, and make sure to keep those good habits going that developed during those 8 days as we look very forward to our redemption drawing near!
