Letter From Dan Preston

September 10, 2021

Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath!  Just a friendly reminder to continue read the next booklet in our series, "What Does the Bible Teach About Grace?"

Are you ready?

In  just over a week, we will be celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles.  Are you ready???? Don't worry, I'm not either...

Of course, before then is the Day of Atonement.  On this important annual Holy Day, we remember the need to be reconciled to God, as well as look forward to the time when Satan's influence is removed from our world.

Your Packing List

If you're like our family, you probably have a list of things to take with you to the Feast.  Maybe it looks something like this:

  1. Dress clothes for Sabbath
  2. Casual clothes for going to restaurant and other activities
  3. Swimsuit for the beach (along with plenty of sunscreen!)
  4. Money from your second tithe
  5. School/Work Supplies
  6. Bible, notebook and other material to study (Like the booklet we're reading, "What Does the Bible Teach About Grace?")
  7. Patience and a good attitude

You probably have those first 6 on your list, but what about #7?  It's not necessarily something you might think about when loading your luggage into the car, but it's definitely something you need at the Feast!

A Little Goes a Long Way

While the Feast and the long car rides that often go with it can be very enjoyable, they can also be stressful on families.  Make sure that before you leave, you take time to consider the needs of others, their feelings, and what it is you can do to help make their Feast more enjoyable.  After all, chances are, someone else will need to be patient with you during the Feast, and have a good attitude while giving you the benefit of the doubt!

This will be the last weekly letter until we all return from the Feast.  Wherever you go, or even if you are keeping the Feast at home this year, have a wonderful adventure, and a very meaningful Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day celebration!!!
