Letter From David D Schreiber

August 30, 2019

Dear Brethren,

Today is Friday!

It's the end of a work week for many and the start of the Labor Day holiday weekend for many here in the US.  Friday afternoon marks the beginning of the weekend which for many starts "their time".  A time to do what they want whether it be a home project, shopping, recreation or the last weekend of the summer to take a family vacation.

We as the people of God also look forward to this day, but for different reasons.  Friday evening marks the beginning of God's Sabbath. What a wonderful blessing that God gives us when the work week ends and we can rest from our labor and direct our mind, our heart and our being in worship toward God.  A day to be spiritually rejuvenated.

On this day, we can focus on the fact that the Creator God is our God. Resting on the Sabbath is one sign of who our God is and who His people are. What a blessing to come and appear before Him, to sing praises to Him and to learn each Sabbath more of His way of life!

I hope you all have a restful and inspiring weekly Holy Day tomorrow as we develop a closer relationship with God and our church family.

Have a meaningful and blessed Sabbath,

Dave

Scriptures to Read:
If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: Then shall you delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it (Isaiah 58:13-14).
