Letter From Frank Fish

November 12, 2020

Food Drive update - Today, Thursday, November 12, 2020, I spoke with the coordinator in Washington State for the USDA Food Box program.  It seems that the number of requests has outstripped the grants for this quarter.  We are on the list if the funding is expanded for more shipments.

Bible Study Topics - Thank you for the input on Bible Study topics.  The elders will be discussing the ideas at our next monthly meeting.

2020 Post Festival Survey - Please look in your email inbox for a survey from the Home Office about the Feast of Tabernacles.

Visiting Nearby Congregations - It was suggested that some of our Los Angeles members visit the Orange County congregation now that they are meeting in person and indoors. I was able to discuss the idea this past Tuesday, when Mario Seiglie, Robin Webber and I meet for lunch. Unfortunately, due to the 25% capacity on indoor attendance, UCG Orange County has only a very few empty seats available for the indoor service. Mario, Robin and I are planning to meet in person quarterly to remain in closer contact.  We are looking for ways to have more combined services and integration as it is feasible.

This Week's Sabbath Services:

Bakersfield and Los Angeles will meet together this Sabbath, November 14th at 2:30 p.m. via Zoom.  We will have two split sermons by David Delamater and Robert Brown.

Upcoming Services:

Reminder we will have in-person services on November 21, December 5, 19.  Bakersfield will be able to meet indoors, while Los Angeles will be in the north parking lot (allowing for more parking on site).  We will notify you of changes should the Stay-at-Home orders adjust.

On the alternate weeks, we will meet via Zoom. This will allow us a buffer between in-person services to help reduce exposure to Covid-19.

See you via Zoom this Sabbath!

All the Best,
