Change for Services this week

• Bakersfield - with Kern County returning to Purple Covid-19 level, the Greenacres Community Center will not be available for in-person, indoor church service until further notice.
• Los Angeles - With the Governor of California making adjustments for "gatherings" over the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Pasadena has adjusted the health order with very specific language.

*Gatherings must meet the limitations stated above (outdoor, 2 hours or less, with face coverings worn and physical distancing between households) and may not exceed a total of 15 people from 3 or fewer households.

This means meeting in the parking lot at Rose City is not an option until further notice. We will have a Zoom service this Sabbath (links below).

This is very disappointing news.  It seems that the only approach state and local health officials intend to offer for the major component of their plan is to limit our public interactions.  May I suggest we go out on Sabbath morning and take a walk.  Breath some fresh air and look at the natural world created by our Loving Father.

Our combined services this week will offer two split sermons.  The first message by Joe Muralla who has only been in our area a few years but brings a multicultural background that always broadens our view of God.  Then, Ward Opichka, who we know has suffered the loss of his dear wife Jacky during this Covid-19 pandemic, will offer us encouragement for our Christian walk.  May each of us allow our reading, prayers, singing, thoughts and the Sabbath messages to draw us into an intimate and personal walk with Jesus Christ who brings us closer to a gracious and loving heavenly Father.
