Letter From Stan Martin

August 11, 2020

Hello everyone,

I wanted to begin this pastor letter by mentioning how thankful we all are that Warren and Helen MacKellar are doing fine as of yesterday from the COVID-19. Of course, we are all fragile health wise to some degree but it is encouraging how well they seem to be doing. I did learn today that Mark Cockrell, the son of Tim and Cathy did test positive for COVID-19 along with some others that live at his Assisted Living facility. If I learn more about Mark's condition I will pass it on.

Wednesday night we have the Zoom Bible Study at 7:30 pm. Fred Whitlark will take the study.

I understand all went well at services in Kaufman last Sabbath. I believe there were close to 40 in attendance. I hope more will be able to attend between now and the feast. Remember a mask is required throughout services but it will not hamper the opportunity to meet together.

Kaufman meets at 10:30 am each Sabbath and Ft. Worth at 11:00 am. We will continue to webcast from the Dallas website each Sabbath from Ft. Worth. Lawton is meeting at the new location which is the Prairie Building at the Fairgrounds.....920 SW Sheridan Road in Lawton, OK. Time for Lawton services is 2 pm.

This has been a busy week so far with the start of preparing for the three alternate feast sites which took the place of Bend, Oceanside, Steamboat Springs and Lake Junaluska. If you have not changed your registration yet please do so this week. This includes if you are transferring to a new site, staying home and using a Satellite site....this area being Kaufman....or staying home or going to another location to watch services online. I realize there are numerous options but it is very important to change your reservation for staffing purposes. Regardless, please use the feast registration to make your plans recorded.

I am starting to work on my plans for the Gatlinburg feast site. It can be overwhelming to consider all that is needed to organize a site but I have found we always have members willing to help. These are unusual as well as upsetting times but God is still in charge. Let's stay close to God and keep one another in our prayers.

I have so much swirling around in my head at this time that I will just close the letter for now.  Penny and I look forward to being with those in Lawton this Sabbath. I am also very happy we are able to have services in both Ft. Worth and Kaufman at this time. Let us pray that God will keep us all safe and secure until the time we can all be together again.
