United Church of God Sabbath services: Cincinnati East, Ohio PM congregation - July 4, 2020

Sermonette: Ray Clore
A Heart Problem
Mankind can’t solve its problems because it doesn’t have the right heart. We can choose to develop a heart for God and He will give us the help we need. If we endure, we will have the privilege of assisting Christ in the Kingdom of God.

Sermon: Darris McNeely
Our Choice: The Kingdom of God or the Kingdoms of this World
Our times compel Christians to examine the depth of commitment to the Kingdom of God. The Kingdoms of this world will come to an end at Christ's return. The liberty God give us is grounded in His coming kingdom.

Just some comments about the webcast on Saturday (July 4). As someone who grew up in British Commonwealth, I always respect Winston Churchill for what he has done. However, I think the speaker comes across as tone deaf in respect to the comparison of Churchill versus Hitler. Yes, Hitler was really bad for us Minorities and Churchill took a different approach which eventually succeeded. My point is that Churchill was not a member of God's church, so clearly he may have views that were contrary to bible principles. Some may have issues with how those views played out and as a church we cannot just say he was the better option on the surface. Ultimate, God is in charge and he ensures there is time to preach the gospel. In respect to the promises to Abraham, the most critical one by far is Christ through who all will be blessed. God was not promising an empire to Abraham but a path to redeem mankind ultimately. Some argue that as Black Americans, you should be happy to be here to benefit from Abraham’s blessing as Africa is such a messed up place. Such views are insensitive and actually ignorant when looking at the bigger picture. Let's preach the gospel to all nations!!!
