When most people think of the priests in the Bible they only think of them offering sacrifices. But as Mr. Smith shows in this the second in his sermon series on the kingdom of priests, the Bible shows other duties that fell to the priests and Levites in the Old Testament. These included: 1. responsibility for the management of the tabernacle and later the temple, 2. They dealt with many health related issues, 3. They served as the judges in interpreting matters of the law, 4. They were responsible for teaching God's laws to the people. Some of these functions will pass to those born into God's kingdom at the return of Christ.

Gary Smith

Gary Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but spent most of his youth in the Pasadena, California area. He graduated from Ambassador College in 1976 and he and his wife, Liz, moved to Peoria, Illinois. For the next six years he worked as a nursing home administrator in Illinois, Ohio, and Texas.
In 1982, he and Liz began to serve in the full-time ministry. Since that time, they have served in a number of congregations in the Midwest.
Gary and Liz now pastor in Houston, Texas near their two children and grandson.
