The Days of Unleavened Bread have a memorable and exciting history in the Scriptures! Imagine what it must have been like for the Israelites during their exodus out of Egypt. Think about the gamut of human emotions – as suddenly tears of joy to be free were replaced by fright and terror when Pharaoh’s army pursued them to the Red Sea. They crossed the Red Sea in amazement and astonishment – with mesmerizing walls of water on each side of a dry seabed. Perhaps the Feast of Unleavened Bread for you and for me has not been quite as spectacular? But consider this: what lessons did the ancient Israelites actually learn from their dramatic experiences? 1 Corinthians 10:11 tells us “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.”
