Godly compassion is to be keenly aware of the sufferings of others coupled with the desire to relieve it. God is Love and created the Sabbath for man out of His care, concern and compassion for mankind. Christ showed compassion, healed those who suffered and gave His life for us because that is what and who He is. When we stop doing things because they are intellectually the right thing to do and start doing them because that is who we are, then we have matured as Christians. We are called to live righteously in this present age, praying that God's Kingdom come, a world filled with kindness, gentleness and peace for all.
