The world around us is full of cynics and critics--mockers and scoffers--individuals who make themselves feel better by tearing others down. Encouragement is an uncommon thing, and as such - when it happens, it gets noticed. This week, during the Miss World pageant, Miss Nigeria showed the world what supporting someone looks like when she celebrated the win of another contestant. Her reaction went viral and the need for encouragers and supports was strongly illustrated. Her example stood out and shined in the darkness. How can we become encouragers? Becoming the kind of person who encourages others, and supports others? Strengthens and builds others up rather than being cynical and critical?
