The Gospels contain many descriptions of miracles. What exactly are we talking about?

Sermon Notes

A partial list of the Scriptures:

Booklet: "Jesus Christ the Real Story"
Inset about Laws.

Strictly speaking Jesus did NOT perform Miracles on His own. The Father performed them on His behalf.

Php 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

WHAT is a miracle?
God performing events that supersede the natural laws we know.

Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Every time there is a human "weakness" shown in the Gospels, a spectacular miracle ensues [ Alfred Eldersheim's book : "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah"]

SEE Mark's account also.
In this sermon, the table I used is from "Unger's Bible Dictionary" Miracles of our Lord.

To reject Christ, the Jews used this passage...

Deuteronomy 13:1 Deuteronomy 13:1If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder,
American King James Version×
  If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
Deuteronomy 13:2 Deuteronomy 13:2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;
American King James Version×
  And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Deuteronomy 13:3 Deuteronomy 13:3You shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
American King James Version×
  Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

The recorded Miracles of Jesus Christ are many and spectacular.  The befit the acts of the True Messiah.
