In this the first of a two part sermon Mr. Smith looks at the use of the term Omer in the Bible. He first looks at its physical meaning that connects the wave sheaf offering and the offering on the day of Pentecost. But he then points out is used with the giving of the mana each day. He then moves to the spiritual meanings of these three events and shows that there are many connections that relate directly to our lives in God's church today with Jesus being the spiritual bread we take in each day..

Gary Smith

Gary Smith was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but spent most of his youth in the Pasadena, California area. He graduated from Ambassador College in 1976 and he and his wife, Liz, moved to Peoria, Illinois. For the next six years he worked as a nursing home administrator in Illinois, Ohio, and Texas.
In 1982, he and Liz began to serve in the full-time ministry. Since that time, they have served in a number of congregations in the Midwest.
Gary and Liz now pastor in Houston, Texas near their two children and grandson.
