We all know the scenario: the sick parent we love so very much who is dying of cancer, the child stricken by a mysterious illness, someone on the prayer list seemingly forever. And they don't seem to experience the divine healing we pray for, hope for, cry out for. Maybe we have a terrible illness, but we are not healed. What is wrong? Does God still heal His people? It seems like He did in the Bible. It seems like He did years ago in the Church. What is wrong? Is the Church smitten by secret sins? Do we lack faith? Are we not praying hard enough? Are we not close enough to God? Have we ever asked these questions? Maybe we have. Maybe we are asking these questions right now.
