What does the Bible reveal about Jesus Christ? Covering John 1:5-18, we explore a number of key points about Jesus Christ’s true identity. In five different verses Jesus and the apostles John and Paul tell us that no one has seen God (the Father) at any time—yet Scripture plainly tells us that Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua and others saw God, and at Mt. Sinai more than 70 individuals shared a meal with Him! How do we reconcile these statements? The answer is clear when we understand that the “God” who personally interacted with people was the same Being later born as Jesus Christ. This is clear from Jesus Christ’s own repeated claims to be the “I AM” who spoke to Moses at the burning bush, and Paul’s statement that Jesus was “the Rock” who accompanied Israel on their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land.
