Life, in all its dynamism, presents us with innumerable challenges, problems, and quandaries. Where is the solution? In our own feeble human efforts?

Sermon Notes

Partial notes on this sermon: 1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1Co 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. Deu 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. Deu 7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: Deu 7:8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Deu 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; Deu 7:10 And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

Deu 7:11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. 1Pe 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 1Pe 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

1Co 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1Co 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 1Co 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: 1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. IF not acted upon, what other sins would they have accepted and tolerated in the future? It is a very slippery slope once one gets started. 1Co 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 1Co 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 1Co 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 1Co 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. ONCE he repented Paul told them to take him back into the community of the believers. The Bible is not a standard God holds the world to. IT IS a Standard HE HOLDS US to!!!! Joh 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, Joh 8:4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Joh 8:5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? Joh 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. Joh 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Joh 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. Joh 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. Joh 8:10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? Joh 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. HE gave her time to repent... did she? He gives time, but time is NOT UN-limited. Luk 13:6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Luk 13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

Luk 13:8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: Luk 13:9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. 1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1Jn 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. TEN best Photos from National Geographic.... women in Africa seeking and carrying water... in the closet on our knees... Luk 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Luk 11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. Mat 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

Mat 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? Mat 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Questions... Am I so weak that I would be uprooted when someone unconverted would leave or be taken out of the Church? Pro 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; Pro 2:2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Pro 2:3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; Pro 2:4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Pro 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. Why? Pro 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Pro 2:7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. Pro 2:8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Pro 2:9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. Pro 2:10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Pro 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: Pro 2:12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; Pro 2:13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Pro 2:14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Pro 2:15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: Pro 15:21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Php 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Php 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. BOTH SIDES CAN'T BE RIGHT... BUT IT IS POSSIBLE BOTH SIDES CAN BE WRONG ABOUT AN ISSUE. GOD'S WAY AND ETERNAL LIFE... OR THE WORLD'S WAY AND ETERNAL DEATH. Psa 73:1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. Psa 73:2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. Psa 73:3 For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Psa 73:4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. Psa 73:5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Psa 73:6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Psa 73:7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. Psa 73:8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. Psa 73:9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth. Psa 73:10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. Psa 73:11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

Psa 73:12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Psa 73:13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. Psa 73:14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. Psa 73:15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. Psa 73:16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Psa 73:17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Psa 73:18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. Psa 73:19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. WE must come to know and KNOW THAT WE KNOW THAT: GOD IS THE ANSWER.
