In Matthew 26, Jesus commands us to eat the bread, which represents His body, broken for us, and drink the wine, which represents His blood that was poured out for us for the forgiveness of our sins, not merely the covering of sin as the Levitical sacrifices had done. Notice, He doesn't say, "come if you feel like it", "if it's not too much trouble", or "if you think you are worthy". He commands us to eat the bread and drink the wine. And He says "all of you" are to do so. Not just some. "All of you". Brethren, we all need forgiveness! I certainly do. But is forgiveness of our sins all that is being discussed here?
