"Let there be light" can be considered not just a command for the physical manifestation of light in the universe but as a promise of the spiritual renewal and recreation that will occur across the entire universe - new heavens and new earth. The light that was, that is, and will be - will most assuredly overcome every bit of darkness. The creation eagerly anticipates this promise, and so do we. God has shown us the end from the very beginning and has promised something beautiful that our own eyes will one day behold -let us live in the light of this promise.
