Does the Bible indicate that the faithful will be protected from the great tribulation in a place of safety? Where is this place, when will it be available, and most importantly, how can one be protected there?

Brian, Thanks for your comments and your interest in this message! You are correct in that the majority will take the wide gate, and that the elect, who enter by the narrow gate, are certainly in the minority! Regarding the comparison of eagles to God's faithful people, and the body referring to the Body of Christ, it may help to understand how Job 39:27-30 makes a similar comment. It refers to the eagle as dwelling on the rock, and "where the slain are (is), there it (the eagle) is". It is because of the fact that Christ was slain that eternal life is possible. As Christ founded the Church, it is often referred to as the Body of Christ. Isa. 40:31 also draws a comparison between eagles and God's elect. There is a short article on the UCG website entitled "What Did Jesus Mean in Luke 17 verse 37", which explains this in much greater detail.

Hi Mr. McCoy, Thank you for an uplifting, encouraging message for us all to consider including me, however unfortunately few will enter via the narrow gate that leads to life eternal, and most will enter via the wide gate that leads to destruction in the lake of fire. Then of that group which is already few, even fewer are considered the elect of God and protected with the "woman in the wilderness". Of the two men in the field of which one is taken and the other left - Luke 17:36, the rapture folks use that one to say the one taken is raptured. Of course, we don't believe that, however: When Christ's apostles asked Him, "Where Lord?", (where are they taken), He answered: "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together", (presumably in the place of safety as you indicate), but then there is this companion verse in Matthew that defines what the "body" in Luke 17:37 refers to: Matthew 24:28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. So the body is a carcass that the eagles gather together to consume, since eagles sometimes eat live food but otherwise are scavengers.
