What will happen to the people who died before they heard of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Will they be condemned forever? How would a just and merciful God who promised to send a Savior to all mankind condemn people simply because they were born at the wrong time? This is a question many thoughtful people have asked but never received a satisfying answer. The answer to this question is found in Leviticus 23, where God’s holy day plan lays out God’s plan for all mankind. Jesus, the unblemished first fruit offering, is the first of many resurrected saints who will follow. This ingathering of saints is an ongoing, spiritual process that was physically represented by the agrarian cycle in ancient Israel and continues into the future. Understanding what God’s holy days represent answers the opening question and give hope to all mankind.
