Idolatry comes in the form of anything in our lives that we put before God. Sports, entertainment, wealth: these can be our modern-day idols. The intent of idolatrous worship meets the same human desires as Christmas does today. It is for finding meaning in life, for pleasure, celebration, for sense of belonging; but all based on a worldly celebration rooted in ancient paganism. We must keep ourselves from idols and be single-minded toward God.
