Many people make decisions based on the idea "Let your conscience (internal governing values) be your guide." However, human conscience (which identifies what one recognizes as ones authority of right and wrong) varies from age to age and from culture to culture. We Christians need godly consciences that know God's definition of wright and wrong, so we can repent and be converted --- and have our consciences cleansed from dead works (Hebrews 9:11-14). We must base our consciences on what God reveals in His biblical truth.
