Matthew 22:37-40 states, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. How are we to love ourselves, and then how is this translated to others? Discussed are four principles indicated in the Bible for loving your neighbor as yourself. There are many others contained throughout the Bible including the Ten Commandments; it is our goal as children of God to learn and internalize them all.
