The book of Matthew has accounts of Jesus' trials before the Sanhedrin and before Pilate. These were two unjust trials that resulted in Jesus being crucified, the blameless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Within the accounts of the two trials are inset accounts about Peter and Judas and their contrasting responses to their own sins. There are powerful lessons to learn from this contrast.
