The disciples were with Christ for 3 and 1/2 years, but being in the presence of God didn't remove their carnal nature. The disciples needed a helper. We too need that same helper! Following the instructions Christ had given them, they waited in Jerusalem to receive the gift from the Father. The transformation took place when the gift came upon them, and they set out to fulfill the great commission. If we don't have the spirit of God in us, a choice still lies before us, and if we have made that choice, we should be transformed, embolden to proclaim God's truth, and do our part in preaching the Gospel.
