“Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, ‘This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you” (Exodus 12:2).
About three thousand five hundred years ago Almighty God revealed to ancient Israel His annual festivals and holy days. The first of these – Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread – are the Eternal God’s spring festivals.
“These are the feasts of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the LORD’S Passover. And the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread” (Leviticus 23:4-6).
Much of the world around us is fixated on another religious holiday – called Easter. Does it really matter to God what we believe and what religious days we observe?
