Corinth was a populous, rich, and wicked city with a 1000 sacred prostitutes who plied their trade each evening in the city. God called many people of Corinth into membership in His Church of God. With the wicked city around them that they had come out of, the Corinthian Church had many spiritual problems. These spiritual problems included arrogantly having favorite ministers, acting as spiritual babes needing milk and not solid food, tolerating a man committing fornication with his father’s wife, brother taking brother to worldly courts, and several other serious spiritual problems . We also have covered some of the eternal spiritual truths that God inspired Paul to write in his first letter to the Corinthians. God has called the weak, base, and lowly not the mighty. God has things in store for us that have not ever entered our minds. We are the temple of God and holy because we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us. Several more examples of eternal spiritual truths are also covered in this sermon. As we approach the Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread, may God help us to see and overcome any of the Corinthian problems that we have; and may God help us to hang onto and live by the eternal spiritual truths that He revealed through Paul in I Corinthians!
