Like Laurent Clerc who left his native land and became a sojourner in a foreign land, we have been called by God to sojourn now in these temporary fleshly bodies, these tabernacles to be Christ's ambassadors. We've been called for a purpose to leave our native land of Satan's society and uplift others with God's teachings and encourage them with our example of Christ living in us (2010 Feast of Tabernacles sermon from Panama City Beach, Florida).

What a wonderfully inspired and prophetic Sermon you gave here, Mark, at the Feast in 2010. Your 7 values of how to be an effective sojourning Ambassador for our Saviour Jesus Christ are so true and valuable for us to attain to as part of Jesus “ministry of reconciliation”. The analogies you painted between Laurent Clerc’s physical human ministry to the deaf and our incredible spiritual and practical ministry to the whole world, were very stimulating and motivating. I have learned a lot from this sermon and thank you very much for it, Mark. Your sermon was prophetic in light of the events that began to unfold soon after the Feast in 2010. It is so true, as you said, Mark, that we need to “put aside our personal differences and preferences to be an effective family team player in the common cause we have” of preaching and publishing the Gospel of God’s Kingdom coming to this earth and how we can live that Kingdom way of life now. Sadly, some had their pet personal agendas and “love waxed cold” and instead of “encouraging our family togetherness”, they ruthlessly tried to smash and distract us from our God given purpose of doing God’s Work in spiritual family togetherness. We can reflect back upon it all now with hindsight and see God’s hand in allowing it to go the way it did, for obvious reasons. I am so thankful Jesus Christ is in charge of His Church, the Church of God. I smiled when I heard you quote your 4 year old son: “Dad, it’s hard to be good.” Ohh so true! :) “Satan wants to wear down the saints”, as you well described, and so we need to take heed and continue always with fasting and prayer and study of God’s Word to live God’s way of life in all of our thoughts, words and conduct, in doing the great Commission together, as part of God’s Family. As spiritual sons and daughters of God, we need to continue in loving God and being faithful in keeping God’s laws and right way of life …and loving our brethren and all people in the world, as we do the exciting end-time Work of God together, as Christ’s Ambassadors.
