Why would God need to command us to honor our parents, isn’t it natural and intuitive? In this sermon, Tim Pebworth shares how the original Hebrew defines honor and then discusses three ways that we honor our parents: through obeying them (primarily as children), listening to them and respecting them. Finally, what should we do if a parent, through his/her behavior, has disqualified him/herself from receiving respect, either through abuse or abandonment? The fifth commandment holds the key to the stability of the family and the nation.
