The apparently obscure story of the tribe of Dan’s idolatry in the book of Judges has implications for us today. The Danites willingly adopted idolatrous practices to achieve their own ends. Their sin helped steer the whole nation into idolatrous worship. Idolatrous practices of making God into our own image are deeply ingrained in our culture today. Dan’s story helps us see why we must stay completely out of the world and put nothing of our own imagination into our worship of God
