When John the Baptist was in prison, having heard of the great works that Christ was doing, he sent two of his disciples to ask, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" The answer that Jesus sent back to John focused on His works, the miraculous things that has been prophesied that the Messiah would do. Jesus later said, "...the works which the Father has given Me to finish--the very works that I do--bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me." In this series on "The Messiah," it is essential to our salvation that we understand and believe the works of Jesus Christ, who was "the Coming One."
