The Apostle John seems to introduce a paradox in his 1st latter epistle. On one hand he tells the church that all have sinned and we should confess our sins and we are a liar if we think we have no sin. But then he goes on to say that Christians do not sin and those that do sin are of the Devil. We will attempt to resolve that paradox and we will see that there is a difference between being caught up in the weakness of sin that we strive to overcome in repentance vs refusing to repent of sin and practicing sin as a way of life.
