In the 1820’s William Miller came to the conclusion that Jesus Christ was returning in 1843. He believed that Christ was coming back at the end of the Millennium. Many people over time have tried to figure out when Christ is coming back. Groups often try to predict the exact time and dates to build movements to get ready for His return. We have to come to understand that we can’t set dates. We all have the hope within us of His return. We must never give up on looking to His return.

Gary Petty is a 1978 graduate of Ambassador College with a BS in mass communications. He worked for six years in radio in Pennsylvania and Texas. He was ordained a minister in 1984 and has served congregations in Longview and Houston Texas; Rockford, Illinois; Janesville and Beloit, Wisconsin; and San Antonio, Austin and Waco, Texas. He presently pastors United Church of God congregations in Nashville, Murfreesboro and Jackson, Tennessee.
