The Bible can be seen as a testament to mankind's continued failure to live up to the image God originally created us in and the good works He created us for. Yet, the Bible is more a testament to God's continued grace, love and faithfulness despite our weaknesses. In fact, God promised mankind something amazing -the reconciling of man back to Himself through Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It began to manifest on Pentecost and it continues in its early stages in us -His firstfruits.
